# Create your account and team

Every account belongs to a team. When you sign up, you create both: you become the team's **owner**.

## Sign up

1. Open `https://app.docsahoy.com/signup`.
2. Fill in your full name, your team's name, the team address, your email address, a password and your time zone.
3. Press **Create account**.

The **team address** is the first part of your published sites' address: a team address `acme` publishes at `https://acme.docsahoy.eu`. It uses lowercase letters, digits and hyphens. If you leave it empty, it is made from the team name.

Your time zone only decides how dates and times are shown to you.

## Confirm your email address

We send a link to the address you gave. Open it to start using your team. The link works for a limited time; if it has expired, or never arrived, sign in and send it again from the screen that asks you to confirm. Check your spam folder first.
