# Your first library

A library is a set of pages published together, with its own address: `https://your-team.docsahoy.eu/handbook`. A team can have several, each with its own languages, settings and readers.

## Create a library

On **Libraries**, choose **New library** and give it:

- a **name**, which readers see at the top of every page;
- a **slug**, the library's part of every page address (`handbook` in the example above): lowercase letters, digits and hyphens;
- its **languages** and a **default language**. You can change them later, see [Libraries and languages](https://docsahoy.docsahoy.eu/docs/libraries-and-languages).

A new library is empty. Open it and create its home page: the page readers see at the library's address. Then add pages and folders with **New** in the page list.

## Or start from GitBook

If your documentation is in GitBook, choose **Import from GitBook** instead. An import fills a new, empty library from your GitBook repository and keeps every page's address. See [Import from GitBook](https://docsahoy.docsahoy.eu/docs/import-from-gitbook).
